First night Here.....

Just got home from walking around Jeremy's neighborhood in Aci Castello....What a great place to live..Lots of beautiful scenery within walking distance.  All of these pics are from the local neighborhood where he lives.  We walked around until Dinner was served at most restaurants at 8:00 pm......Went to a local restaurant that was only about a 5 minute walk.  The culture was just amazing !!  So was the ability to actually walk the streets and trying to dodge all the cars and traffic from the locals.   We stopped at many many shops, a church and then stopped at a local area bar and restaurants for libations and dinner.  What a great dinner.  Had stone fired pizza, Penne pasta with shrimp and Calimari.  Liter of wine and even managed to get a good Italian margarita WITH AMARETTO !!  Tommorrow we are off to new adventures and Saturday leaving Sicily for Palermo early early to make our 10:30 flight to Rome.  We rented a two bedroom apartment not far from the train station and plan to visit Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, the colliseum and any other place we can manage to make it to see in the two days we are there.  What a great place.  Everyone here is so laid back and friendly.  Jeremy's apartment is wonderful.  Beautiful scenery and lots of places to visit within walking distance.  We walked everywhere tonite and then stopped for dinner.  It is 10:30 here and we are pretty much exhausted.  Tommorrow is a new day with lotsa new adventures in store.   I love it here !!

We're Here

Just took our 'death ride' from the airport to Jeremy's apartment.  Good grief the streets are narrow and people drive like they are on a deathwish.  It is an awesome little city from what we have seen.  Had a great flight(s) and everyone was really nice except for the French people in the Charles de Gaulle airport.  Not very friendly people there.  We are really amazed at the scenery and the weather is perfect.  We are about to go out and see what trouble we can find.  Will post more tonite.  Pictures that are attached are ones that I took from the flight from Paris to Milan.  We were almost in Milan and when I looked out the window....Holy Crap is all I could come up with

Traveling Day

Up and around pretty early this morning.  In fact, I probably didn't sleep 3 hours.   Just sitting here now waiting patiently for Suzanne to arrive (she's on her way from Mexia) and packing last minute stuff.

We depart at 4 pm from IAH and our first stop is Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.  We have about a 3 hour layover there, before heading south for Sicily.   Should be plenty of time to find our connection (hope they speak English), grab a bite to eat and hopefully find a hot-spot to check in here.

My anxiety is in Full Swing at this particular moment but I know once I get on the plane we can relax and just fly.  And, we are being escorted every where we go by one of the Navy's finest so we feel pretty special.  Jeremy will take good care of us and if all hell breaks loose, we are heading for the Base.

Can't wait to get there !!  Ready or not, here we come !!
